What I like about my company is that they employ a diverse workforce of 18,600 people, based across 40 countries. They recognise the need to supplement there skills base through limited external recruitment, and are committed to building core leadership capability from within. With this in mind, in 2012 The Fletcher Building significantly changed the way they structured organisational development at a group level, greatly enhancing education, development and career progression opportunities across the group.

Hey Amanda,
ReplyDeleteReally enjoying your blog so far, very neat and simple to follow.
As i was reading this post it stood out that you stated 'They recognise the need to supplement there skills base through limited external recruitment, and are committed to building core leadership capability from within.'
Are you stating here that the company has recognised that it already obtains a widely diverse workforce and is now focusing on more internal recruitment. Such as the recruitment of people within New Zealand? if so what do you think will be the advantages of internal recruitment? Or am i simply misunderstanding you?
